"Opportunities are like sunrises. If you wait too long, you miss them."

Life can be changed completely by even the slightest opportunities. My experience at Fenn has been positive because of these and the relationships I have made through them. If I had not made the decision to go to Fenn in fourth grade, I would not have become the person I am today. During my few years at Fenn, the last two or three have really made a difference in me. Probably the place I have changed most though is in sports. I decided to play football in eighth grade and turned out to really love it. Then in ninth grade I decided to try wrestling and also loved it. These sports have really changed me as a person, and have effected my friendships as well. Friends are another thing that has changed me. Over my years at Fenn, I have really made some friendships that have changed my life. These friends will be my friends for life, even if most of us are parting ways this coming June.
Sports have really been a big part of my life, especially in my Fenn career. Before Fenn, I played only soccer and baseball. Then within a year of going to Fenn, I started to play basketball and really enjoyed playing it. This eventually would become my winter sport and although I do not play it anymore, it really gave me some great memories and friendships with people like Patrick Romeri. I also went on to play on the J.V. Team and had a great time with my friend Colin Cunningham.
Earlier that same year, I decided to try Football as well. The beginning of the season really went slow for me, but then I started playing Tight-End and Defensive-End, and I really came to love the sport. Now football is my favorite sport, and my best sport that I play whenever I can. It changed me from a pretty weak kid to a tougher person. It also offered me the opportunity to become friends with kids I had never talked to before. These people have also come to be some of my best friends, and has allowed me to become closer to people like Colin and Patrick.
The spring term of that year was pretty hard for me. I was waitlisted at all my schools, and was facing another year at Fenn. It did not seem ideal for me, but it came down to the point where I had no choice. This decision was one of my best though, as all of my friends were staying and I have had one of the best years with them. I also made the decision of trying wrestling instead of basketball. This was one of the greatest decisions of my Fenn career. I ended up having a great season and having a great time. It also made me a tougher person and made me have a certain attitude in sports that I could switch when needed. I also created a great friendship with Andrew Metellus. We soon learned through this that we have the same birthday in the same hospital.
Through this experience I have learned so much about myself and my abilities. These alone have changed me as a person and friend to become possibly the best I could be as a person. The way Fenn has shaped my life is impeccable, and scary in many ways. I am glad that I have been given the opportunity and will cherish it for life.
